Default Exalted, anyone?

(edited)
Once, in another life, you were heroes that battled beings greater than any god over Creation itself, with awesome power bestowed upon you by jealous spirits. Eventually, the descendants of your soldiers slayed you out of fear.

Centuries later, you are given another chance. Born an average person in a new age, the realization of your demigod heritage changes your life. Do you fight to save a world which has grown weak without you, or do you help the forces of evil bring a swift end to those who betrayed you?

We have 4 players + GM so far, one or two more wouldn't hurt.

FORMER TEXT OF THIS POST: Exactly what the title says. I know there are White-Wolf players around, itching for a game.

If you're StoryTelling a game already and wouldn't mind another experienced player, give me a buzz.

Or, even better, if enough people are interested we can get a new group going.

I've posted some ideas over on the Honolulu Exalted Meetup. That meetup is a very lonely site - Give it some love!

I'm up for Exalted... depending on schedule.

My other group usually meets on Saturdays, sometimes on Thursdays. Otherwise, I'm generally available. Preferably once a week.

Here's the direct link to the thread on Meetup. You don't have to join Meetup to look at the campaign ideas. Yes, I posted up the campaign ideas a few months ago but they're still fresh in my mind. And any thoughts on which ones you prefer or hate are appreciated.

Just read through your ideas and most of the nouns are Greek to me. The wild west idea sounds fun, reminds me of Deadlands. I'll fill a slot in your group, it will just take me a little while to catch up on the background; the same as Mouse Guard, but I already know the White Wolf system. If we get this group going I'll buy an Exalted book and be read up on it before the first game.

As for schedule I'm in a DnD 3.5 game every other Saturday (sometimes less than that) and I play Friday Night Magic when I can.

I don't expect players to know any more about the setting than their character would know. So, actually, here's another campaign idea.

Exalted in the Middle of Nowhere
The characters begin as commoners who know almost nothing about the world. The idea is to play out the campaign like Points of Light in 4e. In fact, the world is very different from the core Creation setting, so that all players are on an even playing field with respect to the setting. However, the power level will still be Exalted. The problems that face small-town heroes are still epic in scope. You can save the world without knowing the names of world capitals.

If you're not up for that idea, then I would hope players give at least the corebook setting introduction a good flip-through. Read page 26, at least. Maybe skim the lexicon. You really don't need to know all the source material. In fact, if you want to have a discussion with me about what type of character you'd like to play, I can probably find what pages of what book you could look at to get a better idea of what your character would know.

I like the small town group that goes on the epic adventure, but I'm up for whatever the group wants to play. Do we have enough people in the group to get started making characters?

It's just you and me so far, Dave. My other gaming group already has plenty going on. Do you know anyone that might be interested?

Alternatively, if anyone else here on hawaiigamers.net wants to chime in, by all means. At this point, there are about 4 slots to fill. Like Dave said, experience with White Wolf games is a plus.
